About
Course Overview Entrepreneurship: A Practice and Mindset Course Philosophy Entrepreneurship has too often been defined narrowly as “starting a business.” This view limits the power of entrepreneurship as a method for creating value and solving problems across all areas of life. In reality, entrepreneurship is not confined to startups. It is a mindset, a skill set, and a tool set that enables individuals to act in uncertain environments, create opportunities, and generate meaningful impact—whether in a corporation, a nonprofit, a small business, or a community project. We are living in the entrepreneurial generation. Students today must develop the confidence to create and test new ideas, navigate uncertainty, and learn by acting—not simply by studying. Learning Objectives Develop an entrepreneurial mindset grounded in discovery, creativity, and resilience. Apply entrepreneurial methods such as experimentation, iteration, and effectuation. Gain experience using tools like the business model canvas, design thinking, bootstrapping, and crowdfunding. Build confidence in navigating uncertainty and making decisions with incomplete information. Understand the role of failure in learning and growth, and cultivate grit and adaptability. Demonstrate the ability to create opportunities and take action in real-world contexts.
